From scribbles, Google actually managed to plague a few minds as to what exactly buckyball is thus shed light on the historical discovery of sending millions of people online looking for information on it.

Buckyball, which is called buckminsterfullerene, was opened on Sept. 4, 1985 Harold Kroto, James Heath, Sean O’Brien, Robert Curl and Richard Smalley at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

The name is derived from buckminsterfullerene Bucky Fuller, Richard Buckminster, who was an architect and designer, whose geodesic domes and spheres buckyball is like. In addition, ‘fullerine “also stands for a molecule made up entirely of carbon

Buckminsterfullerene, the first ball-shaped particles of the family, became known as a Buckyball from the unusual arrangement of the spherical molecule.

This is a unique family of particles studied and applied in various fields, including electronics and nanotechnology.
