LHC orders Withdrawal of CCPO’s Appointment

Lahore, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) directed the government to withdraw its notification otherwise it would automatically stand annulled.

The court directed Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take back his government’s notification for the appointment of CCPO Tahir by tomorrow. The LHC’s CJ Justice Khawja Muhammed Sharif took suo motu action on the appointment of the CCPO and called the IG Punjab, Punjab Home Secretary,

Establishment Secretary and other related officials to appear before the court. It should be mentioned that the police officer, according to the findings of tribunal headed by Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman of the LHC, was declared involved in Gojra violence due to his laxity.
