Karachi Passengers Protest Against Flight Diversion

The passengers of a domestic flight protested against the management when a flight from Karachi destined for Lahore was diverted to Faisalabad. A passenger was also injured during the protest.

The row started over the announcement that PIA’s flight PK 306 destined for Lahore was rerouted to Faisalabad. According to sources, the passengers tried to enter into the cockpit of the flight.

The passengers also exchanged harsh words with the cabin crew of the flight. Airport Security Force (ASF) tried to evacuate the plane forcefully after negotiations with the passengers failed.

According to PIA’s spokesperson the reason to reroute the flight was to provide spare equipment to a PIA’s aircraft grounded in Faisalabad and according to him the passengers were informed of the situation prior to departure.
