South Africa 170/4(de Villiers 47*, Morkel 40)
New Zealand 157/7(Ryder 33, Botha 3-23)
South Africa beat New Zealand by 13 runs

Albie Morkel and AB de Villiers helped South Africa managed a match-winning score against New Zealand in their opening Super Eights game at the Kensington Oval. South Africa managed to score 170 for the loss of 4 wickets thanks to De Villiers who was 47 not out.

The last five overs of South Africa's innings, which produced 62, proved the difference between the teams. New Zealand reply did not get the best of starts and star opening batsmen Brendon McCullum was out in the first over.
