Swiss Cases Abolished, AG Tells SC

Latest Updates About Giving another twist to the already complicated NRO case, the Attorney General Thursday told Supreme Court (SC) that no further correspondence with the Swiss officials would be made as the matter is over.

The court summoned the Law Secretary over his statement that no more letter is needed to be written to the Swiss officials as the cases there have been abolished.

The AG presented a written response from the Law Secretary on the NRO case. Justice Raja Fayyaz said the government is not taking the matter seriously regarding implementing SC’s verdict on the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), adding how many years government wants to take in this regard.

Justice Jawwad Owais Khawja said the AG may keep saying anything of his choice, adding he asked the AG as to the stumbling block in the implementation, so that these hurdles could be removed. Justice Tariq Pervez said that why was the court misguided if no correspondence were made.
