T20 Aus, Pak Also Progress To Super Eights

Australia beat Bangladesh by 27 runs Australia 141/7 (M Hussey 47*, Smith 27) Bangladesh 114/10(Shakib 28, Nannes 4-18)


Bangladesh’s defeat meant a spot for Pakistan in the Super Eights stage of World T20 competition. Pakistan would face England in the opening game of Super Eights today.

The game was evenly contested by both sides. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, however Australian side loss there six wickets with just 65 runs on board.

Mike Hussey and Smith played sensibly and took the total to 141. Bangladesh also made a poor start and was four down for just 15 runs on board. Eventually the entire Bangladeshi wickets fell down 27 short of target.
